well i didnt even think of the cable direction, but that is something to think about. one more plus for the winters i suppose.
that is a nice shifter he has, but it's a reverse pattern
thats a nice looking lever and shift knob too. i really dont like the looks of modern T handles in most cases.
if you're going with a performance or even race looking interior they're fine. not trying to put down anyones ride!
but i like the idea of keeping everything looking sort of like it...
probably been asked about before, but i'm intending to switch my shifter off the column to the floor, and i'm curious about the different aftermarket shifters people are using.
honestly i really don't like the modern look of most shifters at all, but obviously options are sort of limited.
i'm...
different models and years definitely do have slightly different measurements as far as how much room there is between the fenders.
so a tire and wheel combo that works for a 72 duster may not necessarily work for a 67 dart, but i figure its close enough for a starting point to work from
its about 2 and a half inches wider. but at the same time, most of the guys here move the springs inboard because the tires are too close to them.
whereas i have a little over 2 inches from my tire to my fender lip.
so why shorten the axle only to have to relocate the springs if i can leave...
only if you center the diff in the car. i know there are some guys on here who have installed them without shortening the axle and they said they had no issues with the driveshaft. all it does is set the center section a bit off center in the car
i know some guys run the 8.8 without shortening it. what sort of measurements are you using for wheels? as far as i can tell the explorer 8.8 is between 2 1/4 or 2 3/8 wider. how do the wheels fit? any issues?
well as for me, my engine is already in. so its going to be a pain to install them either way. i just wanted to know if the bars absolutely had to come out. if not then i'm going to leave them in no matter how much harder it makes the install haha
i have to jump in and ask, because i cant seem to see a clear answer anywhere, do either of the torsion bars actually pass through the hedman headers? or is it just easier to install them with the torsion bar out of the way?
by the way the car is that ugly 60s tan/yellow color, so it's a bit trick to just go to the parts store and find it. but i like the color because its right for the period
got a quick question for you guys, i'm not sure if i should put this here or in the wheel section.
i'm in the process of putting some big bolt pattern steel wheels on my car, and i'm wondering if any of you guys know a source off the top of your head for original color spray paints so i can...
I know this has been discussed to death here, but i dont remember where in the forums i've seen it.
exactly what year dakota/durango takes the small starter that guys use when they put headers on an a body?
yeah they definitely have a small swap meet section, at least they did last year. nothing like the big lots that get filled up for the major swap meet. but there are a few rows of things for sale
