Hood alignment woes stripped bolt in hood

I repaired it with a heli coil like the members suggested above. It was the nut inside the hood for the mounting bolts.

Hood alignment woes stripped bolt in hood

Thank you everyone I Heli-coiled the hole today. I still have no clue how the heck I overtightened it enough to strip the threads inside the hood. Oh well done and over with. Luckilly I had a heli-coil in my tool box and tap for 3/8-16 hole mentioned above, left over from fixing a mustang...

Hood alignment woes stripped bolt in hood

After re installing the hood on my 70 swinger I have had issues trying to get the alignment correct. I got to the point where the passenger side looks very good but have been fighting the driver side. The alignment side to side looks good but I couldn't seem to get my height correct. I have...

A/C with aftermarket heads and intake

Thanks for the info. I'm kinda leaning in that direction. The only difference with all the research I've been doing, I might go with the serpentine belt setup. Its a little pricey but better value than the March pully setup,. Did you buy everything directly from them? What alternator and...

A/C with aftermarket heads and intake

340doc- 12 HP that's quite a bit. Motor has 502 at the crank so im sure I wont miss 12hp but what exactly is a sanden type compressor? Off a later dart? dodgeddifferent2- I will have to look into the classic auto air kit. Don't sound too bad with what you have going on.

A/C with aftermarket heads and intake

Has anyone had any issues running factory A/C on the A body cars with aftermarket heads and intake? I have procomp heads and airgap intake. Debating if its worth adding everything or bypassing the A/C. thanks

    Engine install questions

Install went great. Bolted up trans outside of the car. Installed in 1 piece and lowered it onto the headers. Installed the starter while headers were loose. Some pics show starter but I pulled it off before it was lowered down and reinstalled it. My only issue I noticed was how the motor sat in...

Engine mounts in correct location to k frame 70 swinger

There were only nubs on the bracket side of the mounts. I did try loosing the brackets but not much wiggle room. Looking at these header install instructions my measurements are identical to the posted specs.

Engine mounts in correct location to k frame 70 swinger

Thanks just bolted everything up. I may be too anal on setting it up but just trying to make sure everything is done correctly. Does being off a small amount matter at all? I don't know, Im sure there are a bunch of guys that drop them in, bolt them up and go. I was able get it almost...

Engine mounts in correct location to k frame 70 swinger

Excellent thanks. Id imagine its best to level front to rear on at the door sills and side to side on the cowl and core support? I could not find any instructions from Schumacher on leveling the engine, not sure if they were sent with the mounts.

Engine mounts in correct location to k frame 70 swinger

Quick question. Just installed the motor in my 70 swinger. Looking at the motor mount holes the drive driver side is bottomed out and passenger side is approximetly 1/2" from bottoming out to the k member. If assume they should be both at the bottom of the grooves on the k member correct? Or is...

    motor mount brackets and bolts

Yes being the spool mount might make a difference. Inertia thanks for the link. The photos johnny dart posted show my exact issue. Wish I new sooner guess the motor wont drop in this weekend. Im just going to bite the bullet and order a set of schumaker mounting brackets. Then at least ill be...
