Hey guys,
Rear end just went out on my in my 69 Barracuda. Currently has the 7 1/4 and am looking to upgrade to the 8 1/4.
Let me know what you've got!
Thanks!
Thanks for all the responses. Seems like the consensus is ditch the 7 1/4 that's in there. I wish there were more yards in the area with old mopars. :(
Guess it's time to start searching
Hey guys, just got word from the shop that my ring and pinion gears are shot in the stock 7 1/4 rear in my 69 Barracuda. They said they can rebuild the rear and to expect around $1500-$2000. This seemed pretty steep to me, and led me to a few questions:
Would it be smarter to look for a 8 3/4...
yep, I had points in there before, but the rotor and cap are no good. I should probably grab some new ones so that I can have that just in case. She's running like a top now....now that she has gas ;)
No odd smells in the cab. This is coil http://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-8200/overview/

I just got off the phone with Summit and they said there is no capacitor in their distributor, so it can't be that. I...
Hey guys, so the other day the Barracuda died on me. Had it towed to a local shop I've used before and they informed me that my coil, rotor, and distributor cap needed to be replaced. Then they told me they wanted $300 to fix it.
No thanks, I'll do it myself.
I had been contemplating an...
So after measuring it looks like with the car on flat ground, from the front driver frame rail to the ground is 13.5 inches and the front passenger frame rail to the ground is 14 inches. So 1/2 inch drop from passenger to driver side.
The rear spring shackles to the ground were the same height...
I'll do exactly that in the morning and update with my results. I'm also going to grab a couple pics of the torsion bars, the torsion bar mounts, and the adjusters and maybe you guys can catch something that's off.
Are you referring to the where the torsion bar mounts through the frame in the middle of the car? Or the torsion bar mount in the K frame? I would think that if the torsion bar itself were broken it should be pretty obvious when i get underneath it.
Also, i should obviously measure with the...
i was wondering if it could have been the torsion bars. are you referring to the adjusting bolt that goes through the lower control arm? if so, should i be cranking it up, or letting it off?
i think the lean is originating in the front. the back has a very slight lean, but i think it's a...
