    But if you have another reason ( such as "need to replace the carb anyway because existing one is a lean burn version that doesn't have provision for vac advance nipple...) go for it, it definitely won't hurt. I'm in exactly that position with my 78 fury.

    For street/ cruiser purposes I tend to stay in the RV cam range. Still a noticeable improvement over factory stock.
