hey FABO

just wondering what the torque spec of the stock rocker arm shaft on the LA engines is

ive got a couple of different books giving different specs.

my 1979 service manual says 200 inch pds

just wondering if that sounds right

Tighten them till the shaft settles against the stands, then just snug them a hair tighter.

it's like 15-20lbs, they said 35 in some **** book but I dont want you breaking the bolts.

thats about 17 foot pounds. sounds about right. I bet very few people actually torque these to spec.If you do use moly lube on them. A R P has a chart for torque by size and grade.

17 foot pounds is all they need. If you go too tight the shafts will get bent.

thanks - sounds right

I was asking because like Wild - one of my reference books said 30 ft pds - tried that years ago and remember breaking one
