Unported head quickness?

73 cuda bone stock 200,000 mile car 318/727/276 rear gears......what for it...... what ............High 19's.
That was my first time racing and allmost my last, between me trying to stage the car with my back tires :angry7: and then running that time, i just wanted to sneek out vary quitly and never come back.....but i stayed.:D

70 Grand coupe Cuda same package as above only with some tiny 22" tires on the back. look funny but ran in the mid 17's
Swaped 318 for a stock rebuild 340 with j 1.88 727 and 3.55 rear gears and normal street size bfgs on the back. ran 16 and then high 15" before i made a mistake and suck a valve thru a 60 over bore 340 block damageing head and cracking cyl wall:oops:
Fresh 20 over 340 motor, J head when to x head, x head got rebuilt with small stem valves 2.02/160 sand paper rolled port for clean up only.
727 became a revers manual shifted valve body gears when to 3.91 and then slick were reqired. then 4.56 and 10" wide slicks got it down to a best of 14.10.
Note this was at a 4400 foot race track with a race waight of 3760

Deside i could breath to good, so i moved up to a 1/8 mile track that is a 6600 feet. ran a 10.10 and milked it all the way down to a best of a 9.68. my best 1/4 track, 1/8 mile et was 9.2esh
stock head 474/280 MP cam alu single plane with a 600 holley. 2800 rpm stall out of a 11" converter 4.56 gears, 26/10/15 slicks, super stock spring and race shocks in back, old bad shock in from:mrgreen: And race waight has gone up due to lard *** in the drivers seat!

Can't wait to get started on my stoker!!!
