Build thread- 73 duster, forged 5.7 w/ PS and AC, 5 spd, big brakes and floater rear

:prayer: Man....those stacks are wild! You will need a 3 speed wiper motor and linkage, plus a switch. I just snagged the same stuff from a member here to use on my 70 Duster with a 5.7 You mainly just need the crank arm that goes on the back of the 3 speed motor, and the piece of linkage that goes from that crank arm to the first wiper pivot. Try to get the wiring that's under the hood too if you can. The wiring under the dash is the same for a 2 speed or 3 speed motor, and the plug that hooks to the switch is made to fit either a 2 or 3 speed switch. That has been my experience in swapping 2 other A bodies from 2 to 3 speed wipers. Buy all new linkage bushings too....ALL of em! You can get em at the dealership, or off the Help rack at the local parts house. I've found if you replace all the plastic wiper bushings at once, it will save pitching a cuss fit when you get stuck in the rain! :violent1: Good luck.

Thanks for the rundown! Just what I was looking for!

Who makes the stack setup?

Hilborn actually makes it.

I love this build. I really can't wait to get to my motor. I've still be looking at 6.1's but I'm also doing the math and a stroker might get me further with all the 5.7 stuff I have.

With the 6.1 crank, K1 rods and Wiseco pistons, what does that work out to in cubic inches?

Riddler

348 ci - 3.58 stroke, 3.937 bore, 6.243 rod. I think I've got $1050 in pistons and rods (and rings, pins) shipped from wiseco. Add for rod and crank bearings. If you don't have a 6.1 crank laying around, I vote stroker!

That hilborn set up s a gas!

Thanks!
