Have you ever just asked if its for sale??

I don't go on someones property, but if I see them outside I will stop and ask. If they say no I don't push but sometimes they will talk about the car and even show it to you. Don't go there and mess with any ones car unless you want an *** full of buckshot. If they talk to you so a little respect and don't lowball them. Sometimes you can become friends with them and they might decide to sell. RESPECT is what its about.

Totally agree - before you even get close to the car, you need to knock on the door. Politely ask if they are looking to sell "the old car in the yard." Always, let the owner decide the price first.

If they say, "No" offer them your name and number in case they change their mind. If they say no, try to get them talking about the car and their plans for it. You'd be surprised how many people start talking about the car and then convince themselves that they'll never really do what they want.
