NHRA Top Fuel uses a Hemi?

Ford has it's own purpose designed, Top Fuel engine too. There is nothing even close to stock on either engine other than the very, very basics.

Yes..they do..it is a Mopar hemi with an anodized blue block and Ford stickers on the valve covers...they changed the size of the main bearing....other wise..same old hemi..John Force despite what he says about his ford mustang is still powered by a chrysler hemi....one word...Marketing...

The Furd SOHC....every seen one....one hell of a timing chain connecting the cams...they pretty much did them selves in with that design...NHRA did not outlaw...the round to round maintenance is what killed that engine

In fact...several years ago..NHRA put the specs of the Fuel Engine in the rule book....the Specs for the only engine allowed in Fuel Classes is basic of a Chrysler Hemi...that includes bore spacing..deck height..cam tunnel heights...number of valves per cylinder...valve angles in the head.....

So what Did Ford built based on the Rule Book????

Many years ago...Chrysler used to run an ad in car magazines thanking GM and Ford for using the Hemi in their funny car bodies...
