I had a machine shop leave those out once and it took 4 engine pulls to find it. You have to remove the camshaft thrust plate to see them.

I checked them and they are not there. Only problem is not all blocks had them and as long as the cam thrust plate is not leaking then that is not the problem. The cam thrust plate is not leaking.
