I had a MP 509 cam in a 360, OOTB edelbrocks, 10.7:1 compression, 750dp, 3500 converter, 4.10 gear. It ran 13.5-13.8 in Colorado (11.1 on spray), 12.4 in the 1 pass I made in Indiana before I killed the motor.
Well, guess what....there are MUCH better cams out there :D. That cam is kinda like a light switch, either it's on or it's off....4000-6500 RPM it makes decent power, below that it makes very little torque.
If you are looking for a "hot" street/strip cam, check out the Comp XE series cams, or the Lunati Voodoo series. Both of these are much better choices with more modern lobe design (not 30+ years old) that will probably make more power across the entire RPM range.
