Yeah that elderly couple up north were murdered driving to buy a 1966 mustang with cash.

Which is awful. THe border area IS dangerous. I'm sure that there are people willing to risk the adventure. I know I would for that price if I had that money, especially if I was younger.

When you are dealing with that much money you have to make sure the deal goes down in a nice public place. Like the parking lot of a cop shop.

anytime I go to look at something I found on craigslist that is worth more then a few hundred I ask the seller where the nearest bank is and I make the appointment with enough time to visit that bank AFTER I looked at the item if I decide to buy it

that way the seller KNOWS I am not going in there carrying a stack of money

im sure it wont deter the real die hard criminals but at least they wont expect me to get money unless the item is true

For the giggles, I sent a question as to how is the number in Miami, but the part is in texas. Didn't take kindly to it I would say.

Craigslist sucks for that kind of stuff. There is a guy in MN trying to sell 70 Chrysler 300 Hurst's he does not own. I ended up buying one of the cars he was trying to sell from the actual owner. Its amazing that people will risk pulling crap like that for a small gain that they can get in serious trouble over.

I did just that a couple of years ago, in Florida. My son was looking at a car he found on line. He called the guy, they talked about the car. The guy asked for cash, and that immediately through up a red flag. My son called me, and I drove down to Jacksonville to be with him. He was a news camera man for a TV station in Jacksonville, at the time.

While I was there, my son had arranged to meet the guy. We set the meeting up in the Jacksonville Police Department's parking lot, and when we got there, I parked right in front of a camera. My son knows quite a few cops in this station.

Long story short, the car was reported stolen out of Tampa, all 4 guys were arrested, and sent back to Tampa. I know they were convicted, and went to jail, but that all I know.

Good job Frankie. Happy endings where no one gets hurt are always best.
