Sweet amc. I've got a stroker in my jeep cherokee and that thing does 14.8 in the quarter with 35 inch tires.

Sounds like a nice torque motor.
I am pretty sure the OP was kidding about motor work.

FYI the stock 258 in my 80 cj-5 has way more low end than the stock 4.0 in my 03 wrangler.
Wrangler has more top end and better street manners, the cj-5 is just a old plain jeep.
I have had probably as many jeeps as mopars over the years.
