1966 dart Fuel Gauge

Is there a quick way to check this out of the car to see if it is functional??? Thanks

Connect the fuel sender wire back at the tank for a few seconds to ground (chassis); the gauge should swing to above Full. Don't do this for more than a few seconds or you will burn out the gauge. It's best to do it with someone watching the gauge while you ground the sender wire for a few seconds.

There are more accurate tests if needed.
