Anyone have tips on pulling one? Did not find it in the shop manual.. Thanks

1. Under the hood: the steering coupler should have a roll pin securing this to the gear box. Drive this out with a suitable taper punch switching to a pin punch for total removal. [note the "V" notch on the coupler, this will coincide with the double spline on the gear box. [paint pens work nice for indexing]
2. Remove wiring connector under the steering column in the car
3. Remove the three bolts which hold the column to the fire wall. [1/2" flex socket, and a long extension 3/8" drive is all that is needed]
4. Remove the vertical bolts which hold the column to the dash. [2 for sure on the early "A" body's] 7/16" nuts.
5. Now the tricky part, IF the coupler is not rusted to the gear box, simply pry the coupler off, if not so lucky, you may have to resort to a pickle fork or heat....IF this does not work the coupler does come apart, it has a very small "lock" pin. Remove the top rubber cover and retainer clip [four finger retainer] find the small pin and either drive it through or pull it up about 1/4" or so. This will allow the column drive lugs to come up and out of the coupler. Again note the alignment of the shaft to the coupler for later alignment. There should be a dimple on the column main shaft and a "V" on the coupler. This will ensure the steering wheel and coupler will be "correct" OR 180 degrees off!

Hope this helps,
