Up mostly for trade is my 1986 Porsche 944. This particular specimen is an early 1986 model since it has the earlier style tail lamps versus the latter (post 1/1/86) third brake lamp setup. It's powered by a naturally aspirated all-aluminum 2.5L SOHC 4 cylinder power plant that is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission in the rear of the car. From the factory it was finished in Guards Red and light-tan interior. The car is equipped with a power sun roof, power windows and locks, cruise control, power steering, air conditioning, and some odd Porsche security system that I have not the slightest idea on how to work lol.

I currently have the car slightly disassembled but I'm working on getting it back in fighting shape, so check up here if you're waiting on me to get it back on the road!

The timing belt was replaced by the last owner and he also installed an aftermarket head unit and speakers in the stereo, besides that and the Lindsey Racing short throw shifter I have yet to install the car is as it left the factory.

On the not so nice side of the car it does have dings and dents as well as paint defects, also the power sunroof was disconnected allowing the panel to be fully removed which is nice but it does lift if you go above 55mph with the windows fully up - crack one and it returns to the full downright position. I'm not sure how the power locks work but I'm somewhat sure the ones on my car do not, also the A/C and cruise do not work, the A/C needs looked at and retrofitted to R134a and the cruise needs the control box under the dash replaced, it will engage but will accel the car until you let off the button. Also as with 99.9% of 944's the power steering leaks, to fix it you can either reseal it with the updated not-so-leaky seals or remove all the system and pack the rack with grease like many other 944 owners do - if I don't end up doing that before selling it! The clutch does leak some fluid - but it is fed through the brake master cyl resivor so it's easy to keep after, it looses a couple of ounces before it starts to flicker the brake fluid lamp, which was about once every other week driving in Indianapolis for me. Other leaks include a slight oil and transmission leak but the loss of fluid was negligible for the duration of time I daily drove the car, which it did greatly!

Now to focus back on the positive, like I stated the car ran and drove awesome, it got good fuel economy and would handle like no other car I had before, also I personally found it quite comfortable to drive for the performance it offered! I do have the transmission out of the car as I took it out to redo the clutch as well as it's linkages and reseal the transmission over the winter but didn't get beyond removing the transmission though I plan on having it back on the road before long, I hope to have the transmission back in the car by the end of the month so that whoever would like to be the next owner will be able to enjoy it right away, although if you have to have it now I decided to post it as I finish it up lol

The car is located in Clermont, IN (aprox. 4 miles west of 465, I'm about 2 miles away from Indianapolis Raceway Park) 46214

I'm asking $3800 before I have it up and on the road, once it's streetable again I'll be asking $5,000 obo to FABO'ers (will be higher on ye-ole craigslist)

Would like to trade for a 24-28' enclosed trailer or a notchback Barracuda but am open to other offers

thanks for taking a look! -Adam
