Well I tried alcohol today and was pretty impressed with the results. Turbo 318 running 12 lbs boost. Megasquirt controls fuel and ignition. I'm aiming for 11.5 afr at boost but what should I try for ignition timing? Can I advance it a little more?
I typically run the 450-600whp turbos I tune on E85 ~12.0 A/F, with good results. The mass of fuel even at that "leaner" A/F is similar to being very rich on pump Gas, so keep that in mind.
Typically, you should be able to advance timing quite a bit but its possible to over time some engines past MBT on E85. I'd try a couple degrees at a time and see how it goes.
