I am looking for a couple mufflers for my Dart Sport with a 360-350 HP, 9 to 1 comp. The mufflers I have now are way too hard on the ears at highway speeds and the drone is terrible.
I have 22'' x 8'' of room to work with. Looking for a sound like the newish 1/2 ton trucks, low rumble at idle and nice sound at higher speeds. Lets try to keep it under $60.00 per muffler.
HELP PLEASE

For years I have used the Summit brand Turbo mufflers on many of my projects. Great tone at speed, not harsh at all.Nice rumble at idle.Great price at $25-$30ish bucks.TTI uses the Dynomax turbo mufflers in their kits. They sound the same as the Summit brand.Cost is a bit more about $50ish bucks.Just a thought..

The longer Super Turbos 17748 if you an adapt them but you need tailpipes to avoid lots of annoying drone.

i originally went to my local advanced auto and got some the silver oval thrush mufflers. they sound good are not to loud and not overly expensive

I have DynoMax Ultra-Flows on my Duster with a 2.5" system and headers, they're pretty darn loud. The turbo's would probably be a better bet for what you want.

I had Summit Turbo's on the car before that, they sounded good and definitely weren't as loud, but the crimped seams on the ends of the mufflers failed in short order causing exhaust leaks, I don't think it was more than a few months. Granted, I have a 10:1 340 with ported heads and headers so there's quite a bit of exhaust pressure even at the rear tips, but it was a pretty quick failure.

My Summit turbo mufflers blew apart within a few months, total junk.
I've used Dynomax super turbo's for the last year or more and love them.

thrush turbo, dynomax turbo, and summit turbo mufflers sound about the same and are not super annoying to drive around in.

look up exhaust for 340 dart on e-bay and Classic auto exhaust should eventually show up.They offer stock mufflers and they do sound stock...just like an original 340 did.Very quiet unless you get on it and even then the moan of the air cleaner is evident over the exhaust inside the car.

Does anybody know if the Summit turbos are chambered or have packing in them?

Actually, they are not really chambered like flowmasters and their duplicates and they do not have any packing material. They are sort of like the old Corvair Turbo Mufflers.

It would help to know what mufflers you have now.

Anything but flowmasters. stay away from them and any chambered type mufflers.

I prefer borla and when possible go stainless. I like spending my money once.
