Hey everybody,

Ever since my brother and I decided to do a build we have planned on putting weld prostar wheels on it. But recently a friend of mine told me that he's heard of quite a few people having problems with the front ones cracking when used on a streetcar. Has anyone else heard about this problem? Or had the problem? When I built my 1968 dodge dart years ago I regretted putting the original satin finish centerlines on it. Yeah, they look nice but I really like the prostars! Thanks in advance for any info!

I would believe it - - I think they are intended for drag race ONLY - - copied from SummitRacing listing-- The factory warranty will become void if used on any type of sports racing, road race, solo, 4WD, off-road, towing, vehicles exceeding 4,800 GVW, or the use of 31 in. or taller tires.

Never heard anything about the prostars, but they are probably not much different then the draglites. Heard many stories on draglights. Like Mike said, not intended for sideloads or potholes.

I run prostars on my 67 fastback on these nice Idaho roads. lol just treat your car as the classic it is.
be careful and don't drive like an idiot and you will be fine.
come to think of it, I can't remember not running a lite wheel. over 35 years and not one failure.

same here. never had a problem w/ them, and there ain`t many states that have worse roads than Oklahoma !

I had pro stars for 15 years on mine with mostly street duty with the occasional 1/4 mile. No problems yet, I actually just took them off to change up the looks, If your interested in them look for my for sale post,

oh yeah, they were advertised as strong enough for the street back when they first came out. had them on three cars now.
