I don't want to run out out gas while I'm trying to break in the cam...

I pour some gas into an old jar, then pour a little down the carb with the throttle blades held open, then crank it over...

It will kick over and run for a few seconds and then die...

Pour a little more gas down the carb, and fire it up again and then die after a few seconds...

Usually the third try will get everything primed and you won't need to pour gas down the carb anymore, the accelerator pumps should be squirting gas now...
