Big block fan clutch

I`ve seen a lot of threads about trying to get a fan clutch to fit on big blocks in our A-bodies. Whether your car came with a bb or not ,and especially when using aftermarket radiators, there`s very little room for a fan clutch to be used. My car (a factory bb car) has only 3.25" from the water pump pulley to the aftermarket aluminum radiator. I found using the Napa # 261306 fan clutch along with Napa # 209855 fan blade comes in about 2.65" overall and allows just enough room to squeeze the radiator in. I used 4-5/16 x 3/4 bolts for the blade to clutch attachment and 4-5/16 x 1 for the clutch to water pump attachment. I have about 1/2" between the end of the clutch and the radiator. The blade sits back about another 1". The clutch runs around $65.00 and the blade $72.00. Steep, I know. If you have room (like on a smallblock ) then just use the Mopar Performance unit but if you have little room to spare then this a viable alternative.

I picked up these two items today in hoping that it would work on my 71 Dart with a 383/727 auto using a Northern Radiator model #205197, but the fan clutch is so close to the radiator maybe an 1/8" to 3/16 clearance that I would not feel comfortable running this set up. I'm going to have to start looking at electric fan set up.
