Does this look bad?

hard to be sure - does seem to have seen the tops of somethings for sure.. can we see the front half of it?

Believe it or not kind of typical Monday at mopar. Just lay a bead in there and you should be ok.

yeah - it's fine - the weld anyway - - it does seem to be pushed up pretty good in the center though...

Okay thanks guys. I don't know the history of the car itself. My uncle says it's been in a front end accident but I don't think it has been. It does have a bracket on the inside of the driver wheel well? I can post pictures tomorrow of it. I forgot to take a picture of it. I was more worried about the k frame

It's never a bad idea to check squareness (on a car that has been in a front end collision), but it's harder with the k-member in the car.

Ball stud for Zbar???

This. Looks like a homemade z-bar bracket. Car converted to a 4 speed?

K-frame looks like all the ones I've seen. Crappy factory welds and a couple of up close encounters with speed bumps and poorly placed floor jacks.

When I rebuilt the front end on my 67 I replaced the Kframe with a 68. It has a better idler mount. I spent a couple of days rewelding the 68. I also reinforced the steering box mount and the LCA pin sleeves. My father ran a welding shop, he would have fired the guy that ran a bead like the factory ones!

I'll get a picture tomorrow of the other side. I'm pretty sure it was automatic, because the inside where the hump is, is turned to pieces. Lots of cuts. It came with a 4 speed. But no linkage and no shifter.

Well I have an extra k-frame. It came with the car and that's why I was asking to see if it was bad. I'm putting the tranny in this weekend and if it was bad I was gonna change it out when I took the engine out

Sorry guys that's not a good picture I'll get a better one tomorrow and the other side of the bracket

If you're asking about the lower radiator support just straighten it out with a rubber mallet. One thing about changing Kframes, I had to cut off a triangular piece below the power steering pump for pump clearance. I don't think it's a problem with manual steering.

Shouldn't be a problem with power steering. Unless maybe you were using a Saginaw pump on a year where only federal pumps were used.

The original 67 had that wedge cut out too, it must have been a factory mod to use the P/S pump. I still have the 67 Kframe in the garage.
