So I'm looking to put some aftermarket rims and new tires on my 66 Dart GT.
I'd like to go bigger and wider. What would you folks recommend in rim size and tire width?

What size wheels do you have now and what do you want? I am running 215/60/14 front and 255/60/15 66' Dart...

205/70R/14 on all 4 wheels. I believe these are factory rims. Not sure what size I want.
Just want something that looks better and puts more rubber to the road.

Are you running 4"BC? I'm thinking going with 15" ralley wheels.
Maybe you could post a pic of your car as it might help decide what to go with.

Please excuse my ignorance but what is 4"BC?

That's Mopar speak for small bolt pattern wheels; BC......Bolt Circle; Chrysler did two different bolt patterns at one time; 4 inch on Darts, Valients, Barracudas up to 1972 then they changed to 4 1/2 inch which was common to every thing else.

Yes if you running the stock stuff you'll have the 4" bolt pattern. You can run Mopar ralley wheels 15 x 7 rear with a 235 60 15 for the rear. On the front you could run the 15 x 6 with a smaller tire 215 60 15.
I'm sure others will tell you what they are running, maybe with some pics.
Here is a good thread to check out.
63-66 Dart. How wide of a tire on the back?

I ran 245 60 14 rear and 225 60 14 front on my 65 Canadian Valiant (Same as Dart) this was on stock Rally wheels. No clearance issues that I remember, but it was a while back.

Thanks for the links!
What if I decided to keep my factory wheels? Would 60s be too wide for these rims?

Ok, just saw this. I'm not a huge fan of bigger wheels in the rear. If the 245 60s won't work up front I'd probably go with the 225 60s front and rear. Any thoughts on that setup?

Probably not, but need to measure them. My duster only had 4.5 wide. I upped them to 5.5 - min width to run 215 70 14s all around.

Heres some specs on that size . https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bfg-68581/overview/ looking for wheels 6-8" wide. that is measured inside the lip of the rim where the bead seats.

If you are running a 205 70 now and you go to a 225 60 14 you will loose close to an inch in total height.
A nice compromise might be to put on a 235 60 14. I believe that tire is suppose to have a 6 inch min width, although I ran those tires on 5.5's ralley wheels with no problems.
I think most 4" BC ralley wheels 5.5 wide.
