How do I determine the pinon angle for a custom rear end? Building a restro mod 67 barracuda, and just had the rear end shorten to fit tires inside of tubs. The car is currently on a rotisserie, but will be removed soon. The rear end currently has the spring perches tack in place at 90 degrees. Thanks for any info.

The proper way is too wait till you have the car completely assembled and setting level on all 4 wheels and set the angle then weld it.

Ok thanks, I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait to be at that stage of the build. That's ok I can make it work.

there is an other way . Set your spring pads at 90*. After car is on the ground and your ride height is set use tapered shims between the spring pad and the spring . Cost abut $20.00 . They are usually 2-3*. If you need to raise pinion up put shim in front . If you need to lower pinion put shim in back of spring . If you change tires or ride height you can change shims as needed .

Factory they were set with the pinion up 5*

I never install them there for anything. Most I'll point the pinion up is about 3*

Great information guys, thanks this gives me more options. Thanks, gotta love this site.
