Sending Unit Sealant

Hi everybody:

I'm just wondering what kind of sealant if any should I put on the base of the new sending unit. Also I hear it's smart to use the original locking ring, not the new one right?

With the correct thickness ( like OEM ) gasket and lock ring you should need any sealant. I've never needed any if that matters.

Lube it a tad. Vasoline, Motor oil, Astroglide, spit, whatever tickles your fancy.
 
no sealant, very very thin coat of dielectric silicon grease on the o-ring
 
if you need a original lock ring , I see halifaxhops, a member here has them for sale now.
