old fart!? OK that's me. here's the tale ( true). I go to the building supply for load of lumber. the kid loading with it all bundled up, pushes it into the front of bed, and that pushes in the back of the cab 5 inches! wow! 95 3500 ram cummins, 205,000 mi. 3 estimates, each bout $5000 . wow!
insurance totals it, gives me $6500, sells it back to me for $800. I find a "real" bodyshop, they pull the panels, doesn't even need any paint. cost $550. good as ever. so I drove around with the back window bought to fall out for a month during all this bs!
first time in decades I have more than $1000 in a savings account!
 
Do we know when we're an olde fart? Does some one tell us?

I remember when I was a little younger. I would see a car pull up in a gas station in a beautiful car (60's/70's) and out would get an olde fart to refuel it. I swore I would have a car(s) like that someday. Am I that guy now?
 
Old farts know better than to push it thru the bed!! Hope I'm an old fart.
 
Did you go back by the lumber yard to buy that kid a steak?
 
ha!!! I admit I was pretty stressed over the whole deal. I had moved to sw Tx, had to make another trip to Mo. to pick up horses before weather got bad. so I missed 5 weeks messing with the insurance co., the adjuster, getting estimates, and THEN finding a real body shop to pull panels and not do a $5000 drill weld paint fix!
the kids still has his job at the bldg. supply store, but he hides when I go there! ha....
 
Get him a job at the body shop, call it job security. lol
