Some day I will gather parts to restore the A/C in my '65 Formula S. Just trying to think ahead.

Go to a swap meet and buy some R12. It will be expensive, but you won't be sorry. R134 just don't cool as good as R12 does.

I will be adding the factory underdash AC to my 65 Dart wagon and a modified system in the engine compartment. Will be using a Sanden compressor already set up for 134. The reset of the underhood components will all be stock-looking and set up for 134 - 134-compatible O Rings, rebuilt factory horizontal drier, the new compressor and getting the factory hoses rebuilt to be compatible with 134.

Ive been charging R12 systems with 134 for as long as it has been around.
Never lost a stock seal or compressor, cools adequately.
Throw an Ester oil shot in before you add freon, and dont stress it.
