Here is a quiz. I guarantee That everyone knows what this is. I do not know who will recognize it. I pulled this off the Duster, this am., from under the hood.
Note the gold paint on it. I am assuming the last owner painted this when they were trying to sell me the car.
Please, What is it??

How did you not see that before this?
It looks like the factory style hood mat that's been seriously abused.
You said "under the hood" but was it on the underside of hood or somewhere else?

There is no hood mat. In the engine compartment
 
judging by the shape I'll say...top of frame rail.

no time tonight.
tomorrow is early am swap late morning/early afternoon casino and hopefully later in the afternoon pavillions.

I am going to go over at about 9 am. If I am not comfortable with things, I will come home and not leave the car.
If things look fine and dandy then I will park the car and come back later.
I am not that familiar with the way things work over there. I would do it later in the morning but this is the only time I can get a ride home

I'll probably head over around 2 or so. Probably head home around 6 to catch the Hawks game.

I just got home, I saw they were setting up and a bunch of cars were already there. So I left the Duster. There is not another car within 50 feet of mine.
Volkwagon Bugs were in the first row and mostly all those spots are already taken
I will go back around 2 or3

Didn't take the car, drove in around 2:30. Stopped and talked with "C" and the fella that owns the survivor Volare. Went and looked at the bugs, stopped and talked with a couple of fellas I know from RS. there sure was a bunch of VWs there. Oh and made a parts delivery.
 
saturday...didnt make pavillions....did hit the am swap...nothing...the casino...made some cash:thumbsup:
swap on sunday was also a bust.
did get a big 'ol crate built packed and ready to ship to Canada though. :canada:

looks like lots of folks in town for the six assorted auto auctions...

Good location, plenty of room and lots of parking.
Entry off 59th ave. north of Olive/Dunlap, south of Peoria.
Looks to be a super weather day too. Upper 70's.
