I know everyone like moog ball joints but there customer service and standing behind there parts is trash. I had a ball joint fail at 1600 mile bent up my front suspension and destroyed my new paint job. All they want to do is send me a ball joint like that fixes the hundreds of dollars in damage they caused. I bought from a 3rd party so they pretty much told me to fly a kite, wont even stand behind their products.

Yeah it's really sad the manager even hung up on me in the middle of a conversation. They wouldn't do anything because I got from third party. How am I suppose to know who's a supplier and who's third party

Hope you get it back on the road soon.

I wonder if Raybestos "Pro-Grade" is any better.

Sorry to hear this. Especially the body damage.
Describe "Fail" for us. (pics?). Like 73abodEE said, did it pull out of the control arm or did it come apart?

1600 miles since I put it together

Uppers aren't moog I just put spc adjustable upper on it. It's back together already just sucks for all the cost and still haven't seen what body shop is going to cost to redo fender

That doesn't look like the Moog that I have....
and looks dry too, not that lack of lube would cause that

There definitely moog I still have the boxes for them. I greased it once I do agree looks little dry not sure enough made it in. Shouldn't have failing apart still. If your looking at boot I did all engery suspension bushings and boots.

I have Moog upper ball joints, car's nowhere near being on the road but when it is I'm wondering if there would be ANY indication so I can keep an eye out for this type failure. I suppose if the shaft shears I wouldn't see that without an NDI inspection, but maybe I'd feel slop. I dunno, that's crappy. I'd like to see some companies come back to the US, I'm hoping.

There was a recall on some of these. I know. I got screwed by the recall. And I'm still not sure I won't have a failure like you have.

Foreign junk ****. If a company here made junk like that, they'd be sued stupid and out of business. Can't sue a foreign company.

Can't say if they were raybestos or not, but I have come across a few tie rod ends and ball joints where the plastic cage(Synthetic?) was disintegrating and working it's way out around the ball.

"Made In America" doesn't mean much anymore. Components can come from anywhere, and just get assembled here. Or even if the whole thing is actually made here, some companies just don't care about quality anymore, and might skip critical processing steps, or skip materials testing. Anything to cut costs.

Like a lot of companies now, Moog manufactures all over the world :(

I went to their website a couple years ago and gave particular part numbers, and they were able to provide country of manufacture with that information. I know their dust boots are sh*t now. They crack and fall off in no time.

Sorry about your terrible luck unknownsnake.

I bought some moog lbj's a few years ago for my car and the boots did that split immediately. Figured the company that sold em was selling chinesium under the table because they didn't come in Moog boxes. now I'm curious

Edit:Jesus my auto correct is fucked

The box claims made in America

Just want to clarify.....Does the box say America or USA?

I have some new old stock Moog & the boxes say Made in USA

I Have always wondered, and run into it recently on a voltage regulator to confirm.
They can say made in USA on the box, FOR the box, and the contents can be.....

Not sure if legal or not, but I've seen it.

Made in USA in 3 languages not sure why I said America:/ it's back together going for alignment today still have to figure out what to do with big crack in new paint
