Hello everyone, just joined today. Have been working on my semi-inherited 64 Cuda for almost a month now. It was sitting in the desert for 5 years prior to my bringing it home. Cleaning out lots of dirt and looks like the whole car was rat infested at some point. Just finished removing all the interior today and only found one rusty area on the right front floor pan. Looking forward to all the great information on this site.

Welcome. I'm working on a 65 barracuda formula S. Post some pics when the have time.

Welcome Jay. You picked the right place. Lots of friendly Mopar folks here to help you out.

Welcome, this is the best site for you...thanks for saving your Barracuda, it deserves to swim again.

Thanks to all for welcoming me here. Here are some pics of the 64, with the only rust I've found so far.

Welcome to FABO, you call that rust?
Most of us should be so lucky............
lol!

From some of the posts I've seen already, this is very minor. I'm surprised the bottom of the doors and front quarters aren't rusted. There was at least 2 inches of wet dirt and crap in all of them.

Welcome to FABO from another SoCal member! What's the plans for your Barracuda? Stock resto, restomod, or ????

Will go close to stock, I've noticed parts are not as plentiful for the early ones. A clean driver to take to some shows and cruise. I have a 65 Mustang Fastback that I have owned for 21 years also. I was a Chrysler dealer tech for 10+ years, but this is my first Mopar. My father in-law bought it 5 years ago and was going to go through it, but he passed away last summer so my mother in-law asked me if I would like to take over on it. So it has some sentimental value.

Welcome to FABO Jay! Thing about the desert is lots of dust, very little rust!

She'll be a great car to fix up and take to cruise-ins and shows!

Hello from Minnesota. My friend plucked a 69 Super Bee from Arizona some years ago, and there is still sand that comes out of the vents when you drive!

Thanks, I've removed about 25-30 pounds of dirt & debris so far! Probably going to wear out my shop vac before this is done.

Welcome.

Looks like you have a really nice and clean foundation to build upon.
