Dodge Dakota exhaust manifolds for a 273

wanting to upgrade my exhaust manifolds i heard the 1993 1994 dodge dakota exhaust manifolds will fit the mopar small block 273 wanted to upgrade from the stock exhaust on my 67 barracuda it has power steering will that be an issue? do the dakota manifolds let it breath better performance wise?
 
The right side fits fine. The left side is the problem with the steering in the way. I think a manual steering, floor shifted automatic is the clearest path. The smaller manual steering box, lack of clutch linkage or column shift linkage allows more room.
 
And shim the motor mount(s) and mill .*** from the manifold flange and whatever else to make it fit. There are successful installs out there. Good luck
 
My 72 e body has PS and the same Dakota manifolds. I had to grind a small notch on them to fit. It was almost touching. No problems since. Love them.

What works in the e-body doghouse doesn't apply here.
 
I test fitted them on a 73 B, and it was going to hit the steering adjuster.

How much material had to come off?

First two pics show my old vs new. I picked up these for $30 on craigs and gave them a few coats of POR manifold paint. They look freshly cast. I have to touch them up every few years, but I love the look and price. So when someone says, slap some $700 TTi headers on it and pick up 20hp and torque, I refuse. Cheap headers are a pain with e-body.

Anyway, last pick shows placement relative to my PS. If you zoom in, you can see a little notch about mid log, adjacent to PS. I probably grinded away about 3/16". I figured if I broke through, I am out $30.
 
Dad modified the driver side manifold on his 71 Dart . First he cut away the area that hits the power steering an angle cut about the size of a cigarette pack side view with a cutting wheel. Next he flipped the removed piece over and fit it back in place. Next heat it to red and arc weld it back into place. Grind it pretty and you are good to go. No muss no fuss and 2" rear dumps!
 
That's a thick part if 3/16 doesn't go through.

They are heavy.
