call bill at RMS for the finer details. thats one of his cars.. he said they are Circle Racing custom aluminum. 18x9.5 & 18x11..

Is that car running RMS suspension? Looks great!
 
Sorry been busy lately. Ran my first 2017 event last weekend. Did pretty well 6th out of 18 car field. Including Vetts, Newer Mustangs and Cameron. I was pretty happy with that.

I really dislike it when people make comments like this, blanket statements with little or no evidence to back them up. When have you run 17 or 18" rims on an A-body or classic mopar? I have, and I've never replaced a rim because of damage. I drive my cars daily and in all weather conditions. Rough ride? My Challenger rides better now with 17" rims and Bilstien's than it did with 15's and KYB's. Same for my Duster with 18's and Hotchkis shocks, it rides better now than it did with 15's and whatever cheap, sorry excuse for shocks it had on it before. If you use the right parts you don't get a rough ride.
Cool. Can you post a link to those hot chicks shocks you have for your duster? I have. A 74 duster not sure if it has the original shocks or not. I bet it does. What about a strut tower brace? Would that be a good idea for the front? Not even sure if they make the mm for dusters. Thanks!

These are the shocks I run on my Duster, Hotchkis non-adjustables. They make an adjustable version as well https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hss-79020015/overview/make/plymouth/model/duster . I think the Hotchkis shocks work a little better with larger torsion bars, I did notice a small improvement even going from the Bilstein RCD's to the Hotchkis shocks on my Duster. But I run 1.12" torsion bars, and I would bet that the difference between the Bilstein's and the Hotchkis shocks is less noticeable with smaller diameter bars.

Strut tower brace? I'm guessing you're thinking something like you see on later model cars that actually have struts, that go across the engine bay from tower to tower? That's not really what you need. The torsion bar suspension doesn't carry loads the same way a strut, or coilover equipped car does. You can benefit from triangulating the front frame rail to the cowl/firewall and shock mount, but that's not something that your average street car needs. That also requires a decent amount of welding.

This is part of the front frame reinforcement I did, commonly referred to as "J" bars. They definitely stiffen the chassis, but unless you're planning on autoX or road race events it's overkill. You can see the bar running from the cowl down to the forward part of the frame rail, and tied into the top of the shock mount as well. I also have a radiator support brace welded in behind the stock radiator support, it's right below where the J bar lands.

Wow. Thanks for the great response! I will add those shocks to my to do list, seems like a great mod.
 
What are the black rims in your profile pic? Different?
Those are just some 14" Modern Centerlines that I sprayed some plasti dip in anthracite grey. Incidentally those wheels with practically new BFG tires will be on the for sale thread soon.
 
I'm thinking I will plasti dip my 18's, Anthracite. like my old 14s.
 
Im resurrecting this thread for some feed back on some Y2K Cobra R 5 18x9.5's. I scored the 4 of them today for $200 on CL's. The rears have 285/35/18's. Mocked them up and looks like I'll need a 3/4 spacer. I have exactly 6" BS from mounting flange to the springs. The rims are 6" of BS as well. They hit the spring with the 285's. The fronts are 245/40/18's the tires are bald. I would like to go 255/40 or 255/35 for the front. I read through many of the different threads. An understand this may be a Huge under taking but I'm willing to give a shot. Don't mind the rust and dents that's next year's task.
