I am putting M body discs on my kids 69 barracuda. I know i have to use the 73 up disc brake lower and upper ball joints to use these brakes. I am using the 69 barracuda K frame and center link. According to rockauto, the adjustor sleeves are the same PN# from 69 up thru 76.

Heres my question. Rockauto shows different part numbers for the 69 tie rod ends and the 73 up tie rod ends. Do i just order the outer tie rod ends for the 73 up disc brake setup, and order the inner tie rod ends for the 69 barracuda?

You can use all the newer ones. You can even use C body ones. The tapers are the same.

Larger ball joints won't fit in your 69 upper control arms. Are you changing the upper control arms too?

I have a set of 73 up disc brake upper control arms.

I have the heavier duty C body tie rods on my 67. These require a different adjustor sleeve.

I am curious though as to why the part number changes. Is the center link different on the 73-76 disc brake cars?

Use the sleeves that correspond with the tie rod ends. The reason why I would go with the later stuff is that they are way cheaper that the early A parts, they are larger and supposedly stronger too.

The only item that must stay early is the center link. Unless you change to both the later pitman, steering box, and later idler arm then you can use the later model centerlink too. IE: early idler and pitman require early center link. And later pitman and idler require later centerlink.

Aaah. Ok. Makes sense. We are keeping the early center link and manual box. I will order the 73 up disc brake inner and outers.
Thanks a bunch.

Get tie rod ends and sleeves for a 75 new yorker with a 440. 11/16th rods and sleeves and dirt cheap to boot.

The ball and case are different for early and late A bodies.I can't remember which is beefier. The taper is the same and you can use either
