This bracket was in a box of engine parts that came with a late 70's early 80's 318 that I bought. Anyone know what its for?

Pretty sure with that 1 threaded hole it's a PS bracket for a small block.

I stand corrected, it is a power steering bracket because I checked it out on my car.

Definitely small block power steering bracket. I just sandblasted and painted one for the 360 for the LRE.

Yep, looks like the lower bracket for a Federal (Chrysler) power steering bracket for a small block engine w/ aluminum water pump. Indeed, from the same Bouchillon Performance bracket set I bought for my 1965 273 (after installing alum w.p., finding TRW pump wouldn't work, yada ...). That welded nut broke free on mine when installing. Insure that little bracket isn't missing if you buy a "Federal pump w/ SB brackets", since many pullers leave it on the block. Many post here w/ "WTF am I missing?", so if you want to sell, somebody will need it.

Thanks, for the help guys. As of now I'm not planning on using power steering on my projects, but now I can label it and put it back on the shelf and I'll know what it is.
