2017 318 RACE !! .... please join the fun

Okay I did a shake down and took some 8th mile passes last night just to make sure I can drive down there and take passes and drive back home and how much gas it would take and if it would leak and all that kind of stuff. Everything turned out fine no leaks it ran flawlessly and I'm extremely happy. The tires were spinning so bad on the first pass in street tires that I had to take a second pass a lot slower to see what was going on and it just spun massively too. I don't know if it was the track or what? Probably or what!
So since the " Race" is on the honor System I'll have to divulge my rule-breaking ideas. And then if anybody had the same exact setup as I do and they ran something different than I did then they win I'll give them the tiebreaker for sure. I guess what I'm getting at is the Slicks and the DOT Slicks. I'm going to need it explained to me the major advantage I would have using regular slicks over DOT Slicks at this low of horsepower level? obviously the problem becomes spending 4 or $500 to get dot Street slicks. Anyways I'm ready for the quarter mile but I will be putting my slicks on because it's just not safe in street tires. Weather permitting money permitting wife permitting LOL I'll take a quarter mile pass weekend after this one.

You will go quicker with a Drag Radial than with a slick if you hook. I did a back to back test at the track with M/T 29.5/10.5w and a M/T 315/60 Drag Radial and ran over a tenth faster with the drag radial in the 1/8. It dead hooked with both tires. I do not run slicks any more.
