Greetings from Wichita. I recently acquired a 65 Barracuda and am starting to bring it back alive. According to the fender tag, it came with the 273 Commando V8 four barrel, automatic power steering and power brakes variable wipers, bolt through wheel covers and some other stuff I'm trying to decode. It was silver with black interior (buckets and console). It has heavy duty rear springs.

Unfortunately, the Commando is gone, and an 80s model 360 sits in its place. The car is pretty solid except for the left rear lower quarter. I have not been able to locate the build sheet but if it was under the rear seat, most likely the pack rats that once lived there used it for nesting. Not certain what the next step will be, originally was to get the 360 running and put a mild cam in it and have some fun, but the more I read about the Commando, I'm thinking I want to put one back in it. Not new to hot rods or even MOPARS at age 60, but new to MOPAR small blocks and early A cars. Hope to learn some stuff here to help me preserve this old machine.

Welcome to FABO and to early a-bodies!!!!

If I didn't already have the Commando, I would go with a 360. They are hard to beat. Prices are good, parts are plentiful, horsepower a-plenty!!

Thanks for saving another early a-body!

Welcome aboard...looks like a straight car with almost al the trim...Good luck with it!
