So honestly the seats on my 1966 Barracuda are a pita. There is no slide adjustment and the seat backs don't lock in place.

What if anything, have you done to remedy this?

Seats from another car?
Seat tracks?
Nothing?

Interested to see what options others have used.

Anyone tried these?

My 65 have seats that move forward and back but the top doesn't lock in place

I have to unbolt them to do so, so technically yes they do, but it's a pain in the but. Do yours have a lever like newer cars?

My 66 has stock seats with forward/back sliding track. Small lever on the side.

The first generation buckets are supposed to have spring loaded slides for forward and back plus have ( nut and bolt ) adjustable risers that 2nd generation does not have. Those risers offered a little more forward and back along with tilt angles. I don't know why yours would be different. Slides/tracks missing? Seats bolted directly to the risers?
I have a set of early A-body tracks here from a 65 Dart. Same thing and almost complete ( the little chromed knobs are gone ). The 2 piece nut and bolt risers were rusted away but reads like you have those.
Latches on hinged seat backs appeared in 1968 along with the shoulder restraints.

I have buckets but no way to adjust forward and back without like I said loosening nuts, weird.

Anyone have a pic of the seat tracks?

I have a seat out at home and will send a pic when I get there..

There should be a small chrome knob between the seat & door for fore/aft adjustment. Check out the pics of my '66 Valiant seats (same as '66 Barracuda). The seat, tracks and adjustable risers are shown.

There is a unique "six way seat adjustment" that does require some wrenches. I have a pic from owners manual.

Hope this helps.

Part shown as ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT PLATE ( with the sliding track on it ) is what I have here, minus the knobs. As I stated earlier, STATIONARY SUPPORT PLATE was badly rusted ( tossed ). I might still have the bolts and bar stock nuts here somewhere.

I use original seats but others have used seats from the Chrysler Sebring with integral shoulder harness seat belts.
