Dear FABO!
I have a convertible top frame from (what I believe to be) a 67-9 convertible. It is in, whay i consider to be, nice condition. There is some surface rust on both ends of the header but otherwise is good.

What is this worth?
Is the 67,8,9 tops the same?
I have an interested party and am not looking to get a mint but can't seem to find any online for sale to compare.
ThanksFABO.

I've seen prices from $150 to $500. $500 seems way too high for a part that is difficult to ship. Yours will need some work on the header.

You wont find many that don't have at least some rust at the ends of the header. A divot there holds water and a screw or 3 broke the minimal paint protection applied.

I would say that $300 would be a fair price for both seller and buyer.
Those things are a beast to move around. If your selling....move it once...to the back of sellers truck.

I have 2, the 1st one paid $50 and got some other parts

The second paid $75 with a lot of other parts, now there isn't much demand for these frames. So if you have someone interested, come up with a price that you are both comfortable with and let it go.

They are hard to move, take a lot of room to store.

I couldn't give one away at Carlisle this year??
One vendor, who remain NAMELESS, wanted $1500!!!!
I think $300 is more than fair.
I have two myself, plus the one on my car.

Man, seems to be a plentiful part. Seems odd that there are so many. What are the production numbers on these puppies? I guess if it fits all 3 yrs, then there will be more. Does it fit more years than 7,8 and 9?

I don't think production numbers is so much a factor as is the rust. They all rust but the verts got more water inside. Top left down in the rain multiple times or "Rag" of a top on a car laying in a field. The "high and dry" top frame is one part that didn't rust away.
In my 10 years at this forum I've seen about half a dozen verts that were more rust than scrap metal. A lot of the salvageable and highly sought vert only parts sell quick. The top frame can be the very last part available.
I've seen want ads for various pieces of the top frame too, although few and far between. Good luck

I've sold a number of the header seal channels, which are always prone to rusting on the ends! I find the frame to be impossible to sell, and only keep one in stock, just in case!!
