1968 Dodge Dart 270 r/h directional signals work great, L/H/nothing. No bulbs light, front or rear. I have the electrical diagrams from the Dodge Red and White service manual and a little confused as to where to start. Any ideas? Probably the bulkhead connector as this interconnect has caused more problems for me. Sure hope its not inside the steering column.

Any help sure appreciated.. Thx great forum and lots of great knowledge.

Likely the turn signal switch "I assume" you have pulled the sockets/ lenses and examined the bulbs cleaned the sockets?

Remember, the TS switch SPLITS the front and rear lights.

Do the brake lights work? Hazard?

The front lamps come out on individual left/ right wires, branch off to the cluster indicators and then go out through the bulkhead to the park/ signal lamps

The rear lamps come out of the TS connector, go down to the left kick panel connector, and back under the seat into the trunk and to the lamps.

You can access the kick panel connector for the rear harness just by removing the kick panel. Now you can probe, with light or multimeter, the TS switch connector AND the kick panel connector

Standby..............

The manual I have access to is the 68 Plymouth manual at MyMopar. It should be subtantially the same, but the page numbers might be different. Here is the rear wiring harness, this is called "body wiring." The connector far lower left is the kick panel connector

This new improved software is SO damn much fun NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Front end lighting. This comes from the bulkhead connector forward. Inside the car, the two individual TS wires go from the inside bulkhead into the instrument panel harness, branch off to the cluster indicator lamps, and right down to the TS switch connector

Signal switch. Use this more like a truth table

"What you have" going to and from that switch.......

1...............LGN Light GreeN......The key here is there are TWO wires. One goes to the bulkhead out to the front, the other goes to the cluster lamp. Now look at your front end wiring...........Notice that Light GreeN goes to the LEFT lamp

2................D218 Red.......goes to the left over to the TURN SIGNAL FLASHER, so this is power coming INTO the switch FROM the key and the flasher

3................18Tan.........again two wires, look again to your front end wiring.......Tan goes to the RIGHT front signal lamp

4................H318BlacK..........Take it from me, this goes to the HORN button

5................no 18Orange.........dimmer controlled lighting, as for the shift quadrant

6...............D8-18Dark GreeN.........Now go to the rear harness, and notice Dark GreeN goes to the LEFT side signal / stop lamp

7...............D4-18White........power to the TS switch FROM the brake lamp switch

8................D7-18BRown ..........back to the rear harness diagram, BRown goes to the RIGHT side turn/ stop lamp

On my 68 GT having somewhat of the same issue, my right rear running light works great, but no brake light or directional on right rear. I went to the connector under the kick panel and tested there, I believe it was a brown wire like your drawing shows, but it's dead there. It's weird that yours is dead front and rear though, could be at bulkhead connection there notorious for issues. Following thread curious to know what you come up with.

well..after troubleshooting I determined no voltage present at the bulkhead connector (both front and rear connectors) so I guess its the TS signal switch. Will attack the replacement next week after ordering TS on-line. Right side directional works great (kinda weird only one section of sw is bad) and emergency flasher lights work great also so bulbs and gnd are OK. Also need steering wheel puller and hopefully the string that the red/white DODGE service manual references is in the column for pulling wires. If not....dah!!!!!

thx guys for your help....UR the best!!!!

If your TS SW under the steering wheel is bad, you may be able to repair it without having to replace all the colum wiring. Just take you time, and don't loose any of the little pieces in there. Your cancellation cam SW might be bad. That can be replaced.

Another member/owner had a similar signal lamp issue and a new flasher was his fix. We should all be so lucky.
Rear turn or brake and turn wires are yellow and green. The brown wires are park lamp wires.
