So...... a few weeks ago a member posted that he was looking for a factory kickdown linkage for a 73 340 dart. I happen to have one from a 74 360 Dart.... very likely the same thing. I contacted the member (and mentioned in the post that I had one) to say that I would try to find mine and may sell it.

Before the member can respond another member contacts me and offers to buy it. Trying to scoop the OP on the linkage. There was no "if he doesnt want it......". As I havent heard from the OP I respond that I may have one and will let him know.

Meanwhile I am fairly busy and am contacted several times by the OP and the scooper. When I finally strike a deal with the OP I respond to the scooper and let him know that it is sold.

Now bear in mind that every interaction from the scooper ends in "God bless".... which leads me to believe that he is an honest and understand person. I am a spiritual person and welcome most religions.

When I finally let the scooper know that it is sold I get an angry message in all caps (yelling) chewing me out for selling it and pretty much blaming me for him not being able to drive his car. Oh.... and no God bless.

Sheesh, some people. It really leaves me a little pissed off. For crying out loud you can buy the linkage from several vendors (A&A transmission?) or use an aftermarket cable or factory cable......

Sbould I be upset?
 
This seems to happen many times. I handle it by giving the OP first right of refusal within a specific time period and inform the scooper of this. That is the best you can do. If he still gets mad ? There is a list on here for those people.
 
Don't be upset but the scooper certainly comes across as disingenuous. Using the God bless ending to try to get what he wants, and then when he doesn't get what he wants, he turns into a different personality, indicates he's a fraud.

Clearly he knew what he was doing and was hoping you'd feel all warm and mushy and kind and sell it to him since he was being so super polite. Good for you for not being fooled by that loser. I wonder if the scooper will be stupid enough to create a thread asking for a kickdown linkage soon!

I do recall that post where you offered to sell yours to the OP.
 
First person with the cash gets it.

I have seen a lot of people abuse 'spiritual' remarks over the years.

There is nothing wrong with being spiritual, but abusing that for possible betterment of self is wrong.
 
Thanks for all of the responses. After posting this I grabbed a cold beer, went out and cut the grass in the sunshine and realized that I have a beautiful loving wife of 23 years. Two wonderful children who are both well into post secondary education and who are secure and smart enough to live on their own and that I live in, for the most part, a peacful country where all people are the equal and can believe in whatever they want.

Life is good, whether or not someone doesnt have a linkage is not my problem, rant over.

After I responded to a want add, a "scooper" messaged me and I stated working the deal/shipping to his zip, etc.. ( I was low on coffee intake I guess ). Later on I realized I was replying to the WRONG DANG MEMBER. Just another added to my ignore list.

I use that option as well. I have a bad memory, and if someone pisses me off today, I don't want to forget later on and deal with or converse with in the future because I forgot. I have 20 on that list going back many years.

I heard you can say just about anything about a person and get away without seeming like an A hole by saying "Bless their heart" at the end.

What a selfish crybaby dick, bless his heart. :D
 
If I get scooped, I give him a ration of ****, like this seething reply,"...bummer...". Life is too short.

I sold a plastic r/b on here a long time ago, don`t even remember to who.. Had 5-6 people want it, got confusing to who did what and when. I think the first one interested, was tryin to get me to come down on the price, wanting to know the brand-etc. Ended up selling it to the first guy that came up w/ the $. One of the interested parties got all bent out of shape because it wasn`t him! Don`t remember what my reply was to him either, I`m sure it wasn`t real nice.
 
I have been scooped by others on sale sites. It happens. I move on.
Also have the nit-pickers too.

First come first serve low ballers need not apply.

Be fair and reasonable,they dont like it, rufus nippili.
 
reminds me of years back at swaps. at a small mopar swap in Tn. the guy from Fl that hawked tons of parts at the Nats was there, I pick up a part, i have it in my hand, waiting my chance to ask the vendor its price. vendors say $100 and Fl guy yell at him " I WILL TAKE IT!".....
I holler BULLSHIT, its in my hand and I asked its price first .. get in line bud!! ha... he seemed pissed.

No, Ted is a good friend. he is from N. Al. Ted never went to the little swaps after parts, he has, I guess the largest mopar yard in US. he would go to the Nats and pick up some hard to find stuff,( shot the breeze, see the sites, ) like for instance 68 coronet trunk lids.

I havn't been to Nats since maybe '3 or any small swaps since then either. there is what call "manners" and not act lke hogs running to the trough.

on this site, the prodocal gets blurred when the first guy that inquires about a part wants more pics, more info, wants to dicker on the price, and the second guy is maybe ready to make the buy. I guesss there is NO written rule.

lets just say, Ted is Ted, but he knows what $ parts will bring..... I admit I have never bought a part from him, years back I sold him a few. he was gripping bout buying the sheetmetal as he had tons of it then. maybe his supply has d windled by now! ha
he runs a business , still his only business far as I know. I guess enough said.

I have no ill feelings toward any person, not even those that wronged me.

This is where you and I differ. Screw me Once and only once, I cut you out of my life till death. I don't forgive! In two times in the past I did, it came back to bite me in the ***. And like you said enough on that subject, We,re muddying up th OP thread. I'm sorry.
