What makes a Demon a Demon

-
Why would you say that? The only demon specific parts I can think of is the tail panel, tail lights, and emblems. The car from the cowl back is a duster and there forward is all dart parts.
The 73 dart sport is much different only because all the models were getting major changes at that time.

why? ask anyone that has had to hunt for Demon specific parts. OK the whole car is NOT exactly different from a 70-2 Duster. but..... kinds like looking for 70 charger specific parts.. seems to be.

When referring to The New Demon, 840HP makes it a Demon (Fear it).

The biggest and most unmistakable difference is the tail lights. 71-72 Demon only.

That's true, but most of the tail lights were one or two year only deals anyway. The Duster was 70/71, 72, and then 73-76 on the tail lights. The Demon isn't any different in that regard, the redesign in '73 changed them anyway for the Dart Sport. And I would guess that based on the redesign, it wouldn't have mattered if they kept the Demon name anyway, the tail lights would have been same as the Dart Sport version regardless of the name.

But still, not a lot of the tail lights out

That's pretty much true too. The tail light panel is no big deal, they reproduce those along with the tail light bucket supports. They aren't cheap, but they aren't really any more expensive than similar Duster versions if you have to buy it all from AMD. Originals are pretty much impossible to find in good condition though, not too many people part Demons and if they do they're hammered. The tail lights on the other hand, well, those can be expensive. Especially the lenses, if you want a good set of Demon tail light lenses be prepared to pay a ton of money. I mean yeah, there's some guys on eBay asking ridiculous prices like anything, but even when "affordable" versions pop up by sellers that have a decent idea of the market they're still pricey. I have several sets of Demon tail lights, a couple lenses are pretty busted (parts), couple more are decent for a driver. I have one driver's side that's almost perfect, still kinda looking for a passenger side to match it although a couple are close and that's why I have a few extra's. The stickers for '71 aren't bad at all, the badges for '72 are more expensive but not much more than other re-pop badges. The interior door emblems are different of course, I'm not sure if they make those and for a little chunk of plastic they can be expensive compared to the Duster version. But they're not crazy expensive. The interior panel designs were different too, but again those are pretty much the same price as the 340 Duster panels.

Pretty much covered it already. But yeah, the badges are all 1 year only, the stickers are one year only. The tail panel/lights are the same for both years, but they didn't make very many so there aren't many out there. And at least at the moment they aren't reproduced. And the Dart parts you need aren't cheap either, the 70/71 stuff like the grille is pretty pricey, even if it is the same as all the Darts were.

The tail lights are by far the worst thing to try and find in good condition.
