Had time after the 4th of July weekend to install the FiTech system on my motor. Part #30002. I was following along in the instructions putting in the initial setup with the handheld and came across 2 things I had a question about before I started it.

First in Engine Setup, "If FCC set pwm 40" and this was set to 74.9% from the factory. Instructions didn't mention this step.

Second in Ignition Setup, "VR Advance 4000" and this was set to 17.6 degrees. I have my base timing set to 10 degrees. I'm using the FiTech to control timing.

Hey buddy, sorry i completely spaced on your PM

Thats telling you to set the pulse width modulation to a lesser value if you have the FCC installed (fuel command center) so the pump isn't running full bore at lower power settings.
If you are using the FCC (sorry, i don't remember if you are) back that value down to 40.
as seen here.

the vr advance 4000, is an assist in syncing the timing of the engine to the fitech. Various signals can cause distortion, so they have you do the static check with the base timing at 4000 rpm. if the timing is wavering at 4000, and doesn't match the same value as base...then you adjust this value to get it to match.

Finally got through on their tech support. They told me to bump the "If FCC set pwm 40" to 100% since I'm running an in-tank fuel pump (255lph Walbro high pressure).

They told me to get it running then sync the distributor before changing the "VR advance 4000"

It's running pretty good. Got to tweak some stuff a bit, like the accelerator pump setting yet. But other than that been working good.

Sounds like the same "kinks" I've got to iron outta mine as well. My 73 Dart sport 340 came with the 600hp FItech installed bu it was never properly dialed in, just got finished fixing up the fuel supply issues and now to work on the tuning. Did however find out that all their weatherproof connections wern't so, after a good drive in the rain got a soaked connection which tossed the original tune out to lunch. Just a thought but this winter I think I'll soder up the connections this winter.
