Wouldn't cutting the mud collectors off, in front of the wheels, provide enough room?and be the cheapest easiest solution, coupled with a 1/4 inch perch spacer?I think there was a how-to thread on FABO here a few months ago. I mean it's just a little piece of sheet metal. If that's all it takes, Bam!
Have you ever tried drilling a hole in a spring? Buy a box of bits.And use a drill press. Be sure to chamfer the holes.
