Edelbrock Thunder 650 AVS

There is a thread on actual cfm of the Carters. From what I remember of the later ones, they were larger in cfm.

The small AVS is 630 cfm and the larger AVS was 750 cfm as per the old Carter-Federal Mougal tech line.

The last of the AFB carbs were 625 & 750.

Edelbrock has the AFB in 500, 600, 750 & 800 while the AVS comes in 500, 650 & 800. Of also have no idea how they get 650 out of the AVS styled carb. I don't see how the missing choke linkage as well as the reduced area from the counter wieghted air door to the spring loaded air door add up to that much.

An old boss who f mine loaned me his AVS after I broke the base plate of the Holley I was running. And that was it. Soooo much better. Not the same top end but much better everywhere else.
