1972 Duster Project

Wonder what it would look like with this sticking out of the hood?

Well I will have to see how well it would work with a 408. I wonder if I could build a scoop that I could take on and off?

So there seems to be a trend. Initially I found it on eBay so I left there and headed to Profit for what the interior needs, but this is like the fifth time I have tried to buy something for my builds, pay, and THEN get told it's not in stock. Grrrrrr

Started some work on the instrument bezel for the car. Have a little more work to go to get it prepped for paint. Needs one repair on top where the screw mounts are. Gold and black on this one...it is a Gold Duster

Since I picked up the 73 there is good chance I will put the original drivetrain back in the car and drive it. The 73 is a solid car that needs less metalwork and I can get to it nice and slow.

Ok. Interior was supposed to be here this weekend, but alas, another delay. Silly me, I thought shaking a hand and making a deal was an actual thing. Apparently I am mistaken. All is not lost, **** happens and set backs are no issue. Now I did decide the original slant six is going back in the car, metal work will be done, and I will start driving it while it looks like a patchwork quilt, stick a for sale sign in the window and drive the piss out of it. Then turn my attention to either the 73 Duster or the 72 Swinger again. I am STILL waiting for the 512 assembly to come back on that car!! Don't they know I want my stuff??

Apparently 512 has moved to the front of the line at the machine shop, 440 and 360 moving to assembly. Wifey bought me a few man cave items! Painted interior trim pieces. A little assembly line work. Pulled the K frame from the parts car, power washed, wire brushed, painted and sold today. That funded a tank of gas and dinner with the family...lol I have people wanting to buy this car as it sits....got my eye on a 41 Coupe....hmmmm

Ok, actual work moved on this one. Head back from the machine shop all new. Tearing into the power plant to put back in the car. Going to keep the original slant six in the car. Interior due back this weekend.

Ok. Accidentally posted update on 73 thread. Spent the day tearing down motors and cleaning. This one is officially in line for metal work.

Got inside and prepped floor and trunk for metal patches. Removed all the seam sealer in my way. Once patch panels in I will reseal and soundproof. Ordered pivot seals for wipers. How bout that stereo wiring pile?

Then I disassembled the front end with some help and removed the majority of the undercoat before I had to bail for a meeting.
