That is strange, i'll give you that. Wonder if it could be a mechanic lien situation. I know in Indiana, if you put a mechanic lien on a vehicle that you have documented proof of working on for lack of payment, you can sell the vehicle even without the owner's consent after so many days and after certain legal notices.
