1968 barracuda s from Mexico

-
Guys I can’t tell you how great full I am for all the knowledge you’ve given me. I’m getting the car at a stupid crazy deal 10,500. From what I understand the original owner was his neighbor he drive the car from Mexico to Connecticut in the 70s and raced it till the engine blew in the 80s the guy bought it in 2008 and just puts it around. I plan to just keep racing it.

Seems like good to fair deal from what I see and if those same things are carried out throughout the car. I don't see it as a stupid crazy flaming deal. Look over the car with a fine comb.

.

anything specific I should look out for besides the obvious like rust. The cars perfect for what I want to do it runs 11:30s and I’m just going to keep beating on it

Look at the chassis for things welded on and repaired or modified.
Like:
Kmember to lower control stud
Upper control arm to unibody structure
Front Spring hanger to body
Rear shackle to body
Upper shock mount structure on frame.

I don't know if that would totally kill a deal but if you want to safely race it, re check everything. I would not treat it as a turn key track car.

It just looks like the type of car that if something had 4 bolts holding it on, now there would be 3. Or it would have 4 bolts but they'd all be loose.

hey guys I have a few questions about this car I’m going to buy, I was hoping there might be someone on here more knowledgeable then I am. I’m buying a 1968 formula s barracuda but it was an AUTOMEX car so it was made for the Mexican market. Are there any difference between it and a standard barracuda. I noticed the vin and fender tag are different I’m not sure if it’s original or it was because the car was imported to America. Basically from what I was told it’s an original formula s 383/4speed car. He said it was the closest thing that the Mexican market could get to a super stock barracuda. If someone could lay down some basic knowledge I would really appreciate it.

That's beautiful! Love the color!
**edit** what condition is it in now? Rolling chassis? It's been questioned whether it's a Formula S. Nice looking car, hope you can bring it back.

Missing the rear exhaust valance cut outs for dual exhaust. At least a US "S" would have been in 68. I can't see if there are 2 turn down cut outs either.
