RB Engine in A bodies - Air Cleaner Clearance Issues

My engine is built for a flat torque curve from 3000 to 6000, and I have a 2400 - 2600 stall converter with a GM 4L60E four speed. It has a 0.7 overdrive with LUC, so I am running a 4:10 rear gear. Zero stalling, just melts the tires through 2nd gear.....
mine is a 727 , dana 60 / 3:73 geared , 3500-3800 convertor , 505" wedge , very docile driving normal , turns sideways any time full throttle is applied on the street. Haven`t got to caltrac tuning, or the strip yet.
