I must of done something wrong. I am rewiring everything so gauges, lights, accessories and instrumentation are all disconnected. It's battery/Alt/Voltage Regulator/Ignition Switch, coil, Ballast Resistor period. Starts and runs great with no issues. The only problem is it won't turn off until I disconnect Bat, Ign1, or Ign2 on Ignition switch. Nice to hear my Slant 6, 66 Dart running after 3 months!

After ep lacing the ignition switch it still happened then swapped out the regulator and it solved the problem

Without seeing how it's actually hooked up, impossible to guess. What do you have for ignition? IE breaker points? HEI? etc?

What do you have for an alternator / regulator? "1 wire" Stock pre 70 Mopar?

I have the 2 wire Alternator and the thinner aftermarket regulator with FLD/IGN, everything else is factory: points, rotor, etc. The ignition switch doesn't seems to have clearcut stops for off/accessory.

Well I nearly mentioned........and I will...........this problem might well be simply a bad ignition switch. How do you have the alternator output connected, that is the big stud?

One to the Starter Relay, another goes through the bulkhead (no connecters) and meets with the former ammeter Red wire at a new spade fusebox input (MADD electric) Bypass. I'm thinking ignition switch as there are no definitive clicks for accessory, off just the momentary contact for start/run. The only way you know you would be in off is because the key comes out and it's at 12:00 position.

Probe the switch connector find the "ignition run" wire. You have a shop manual/ diagram?

See if it's hot in "run" and no other positions of the switch. This is with engine stopped

Sounds like the key switch. In ACC or OFF position, IGN (blue) and IGN2 (brown) wires should not read any voltage (rel. to BAT-). You can access those wires at the ballast resistor (upstream and downstream sides).

I accidentally pushed the key in a little deeper and it clicked when I turned it to the Off position. I think it is a sloppy, worn ignition switch! Thanks for all your help!
