this sickness is spreading to australia.........please pray..

I really don’t understand the hate for what’s essentially hot rodding on a budget. What allowed me to get into the old car hobby in the first place is that you can pick up a 70’s A-Body for relatively cheap, at least compared to other old cars. So if you’re going the low buck route and you want to do a swap to a modern fuel injected engine, the LS makes a lot of sense.

Now I can understand if you have a pristine Barracuda or even a very nice 60’s Dart, why it’s preferable to keep that all Mopar. So on one of those cars, the extra thousands to do a 5.7 Hemi can be justified. But in my case I have a 73 Swinger I bought for $4300. It has the beak, worn out paint, rust, dings, the panels have big gaps between them… It would be financially stupid to try and make it a show car and quite frankly, I wouldn’t want that even if money wasn’t an obstacle. So when it comes time to replace the 318, I will absolutely be considering a junkyard LS. Even a bone stock 5.3 in such a lightweight car would be a blast.
